Saint Michael’s Medical Center Promotes Domestic Violence Awareness

Newark, N.J. — Saint Michael’s Medical Center recently highlighted Domestic Violence Awareness with a special program.

Alecia Seery-Scala, RN, BS, LNC, FN-CSA, Essex County Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner – Sexual Assault Response Team (SANE-SART) coordinator (pictured above, left), was invited to speak to nurses and physicians about the indicators for domestic violence and on delivering timely victim assistance.

With her is Roxana Gonzalez, nurse educator (above, right), with a storyboard for the contest, “Expressions: Domestic Violence Awareness,” as part of the campaign. All entries expressed the need for early recognition and intervention for victims of domestic violence.
