Last Call for Proposals for N.J. Health Initiatives

Princeton, N.J. — New Jersey Health Initiatives, a statewide grant-making program of the RWJ Foundation, will support projects that provide dating violence prevention programs for adolescents. The programs will use the “Safe Dates”
curriculum.

This research-based program is a model in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices of the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Applicant organizations must be either public entities or nonprofit organizations.

A total of $3 million will be awarded to support prevention of dating violence among adolescents. Up to eight grants of between $250,000 and $400,000 each will be awarded to support projects in New Jersey for a three-year period, beginning July 1, 2008 and ending on June 30, 2011.
