Richard Stilp

Richard Stilp, MA, RN, FPEM, MEP, retired from Orlando Fire Department in 1999 as a district chief of operations. His responsibilities included managing the department's Type 1 Hazardous Materials Response Team. During his tenure on the fire department, he graduated from nursing school in 1985 and worked for 10 years on his off-duty time as an ED nurse. After retirement, he became the corporate director for safety and security for Orlando Regional Healthcare, a group of seven hospitals in Central Florida. In 2005, he returned to the fire service when he took over as the executive director of the Central Florida Fire Academy.
