Pete Nielsen, MA, BS, CAI, CCJP, CADC II, ICADC, CA CCS, is the CEO of the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP), CCAPP Credentialing, and CCAPP Educational Institute. Mr. Nielsen previously held the position of Deputy Director for CCAPP and Interim Executive Director for the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC). He also is the chair of the California Coalition of Counselor Certifying Organizations (CalCCCO). In addition to his solid background in association management, he also has a diverse background in education and treatment. He is a nationally known speaker and writer who has been published in numerous industry specific magazines. He is on the editorial board for Counselor magazine. He has worked in education as a campus director, academic dean, and an instructor. He has worked in the substance use disorders field for nineteen years as an interventionist, family recovery specialist, counselor, and administrator.
