Claire Hartman

RN, IBCLC

Claire Hartman, RN, BSN, BFA, IBCLC is a SME nurse writer for Relias in Acute Care. She has nursing experience in functional medicine, neonatal intensive care, and obstetrics. Ms. Hartman has over 10 years of experience in birth, with a focus on high-risk obstetrics and perinatal hospice in both a large public teaching hospital and a small, private birth center. She is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has taught neonatal resuscitation, breastfeeding support, and routine gynecological care to providers in varied medical settings. Ms. Hartman has led a community support group for bereaved families experiencing perinatal loss. In addition to obstetrics, she is enthusiastic about frontiers in functional medicine, and the burgeoning field of trauma-informed care. She holds degrees in both nursing and fine arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
