Drawbacks: Because field is new, limited opportunities available. Some skepticism still exists about holistic medicine
Desirable skills: Commitment to a holistic philosophy. Openness to go beyond the conventions of traditional medicine
Education: Certification and/or licensure may be required in specific modalities, but this varies from state to state. Certification in Holistic Nursing available from AHNA. On-going self-education to the principles and practices of holistic nursing
