The Womans Hospital of Texas is currently looking for a Enhanced Surgical Recovery Nurse Navigator (RN) - Day Surgery.

Job Summary:


Clinical Coordinator with focus on Enhanced Surgical Recovery and Pediatrics patients throughout their perioperative experience ensuring a  positive patient experience and a smooth transition through the continuum of care. Manages the care of ESR patients in accordance with established clinical pathwyas, policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Serves as the coordinator of all disciplines for seamless patient care and will assist with the education of facility staff, patients and families and serve as a liason between The Womans Hospital of Texas and physician offices.


  • Assess patient compliance with ESR pathway.
  • Work with physician office prior to admission to prepare, anticipate and communicate individualized needs of the patient to enhance the hospital experience.
  • Communicate with physician offices regarding ESR pathway and conduct monthly outcome review meetings.
  • Work with physician, nursing, ancillary staff, and patients and families to enhance continuity of care.
  • Basic RN role in Pre-surgical, Pre-op patient nursing care.
  • Gathers ESR checklist and audit data on each patient
  • Works with unit leaders to implement and maintain established department, unit and hospital policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, EIAS
  • Manage ESR/Pedi program education needs in collaboration with other Perioperative leaders for staff and patients
  • Updates all patient collaterals to reflect current evidence based practice.
  • In coordination with office and OR staff, anticipate for unique patient needs i.e. bariatric bed, etc
