Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practice RN - Surgical Podiatry Position

Orthopedic Associates of Middletown is a premier eight doctor, six physician assistant group located in Central Connecticut on a beautiful campus that includes orthopedic and orthopedic urgent care facilities. OAM is located 20 minutes southwest of Hartford and 30 minutes from the Long Island Sound.
OAM is looking to add a NP/APRN to our group to work alongside our Surgical Podiatrist. The daily duties will include caring for, treating, and triaging patients. The ideal candidate will also perform the following:
Work closely with the Surgical Podiatrist to evaluate and treat patients in the office setting.
Perform comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams, interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic studies, to assist in formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan.
Duties include assisting in surgery, inpatient rounds and consults, and conduct appropriate follow up visits from ED referrals.
Order diagnostic procedures and studies.
Order and prescribe medications and DME as allowed by the state and within the scope of practice.
Communicate with patients to serve as the liaison between patient and Physician.
Maintain records in the office setting as required.
Knowledge in Wound Care.
**Prefer that candidate have Orthopedic experience but willing to train a new graduate.**
