Registered Nurse Informaticist
Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
Informaticist provides training and ongoing support for staff and providers on use of EMR and related software in the Eisenhower Cancer Center. Works with IT staff on projects related to the EMR.

Required: BSN or MSN or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within 1 year of hire and completion within 5 years of hire if hired after July 1, 2012
Required: CA Registered Nurse, American Heart Association BLS
Required: Minimum two (2) years clinical oncology experience
Required: Information Technology experience
Preferred: Advanced EPIC/Beacon experience

Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
Develops a working knowledge of the Cancer Center’s EMR and related software, and enhances own knowledge of the EMR and related software as software is upgraded or applied in new ways to clinic processes.
Provides training and ongoing support to Cancer Center’s staff, physician and providers on the ARIA EMR and related software.
Assists in mapping of office/clinic work flow processes and the use of the EMR to support that work flow.
Works with clinic management to evaluate ways that software can be utilized to solve operational issues and improve operational efficiencies in the clinics.
Participates with the project management team (including management and IT counterparts) in implementing software upgrades, enhancements, and conversions. Maintains current and regular communication with project managers and project team members to facilitate timely and accurate project execution.
Provides education to staff and providers following upgrade to systems or introduction of new software.
