Registered Nurse (Occupational Health)
The Occupational Health/Employee Wellness (OH/EW) Nurse is a registered professional nurse who is accountable to the Associate Chief Nurse, Quality and Performance. The OH/EW Nurse functions as the lead manager, coordinator, and point of contact for occupational health, employee health promotion, disease prevention and injury prevention. S/He is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs/activities based on assessed learning needs of employees to enhance the employees' personal wellbeing and improve their effectiveness, productivity and satisfaction. S/He works collaboratively with all levels of staff within the facility including Dietetics, Employee Assistance Program staff, unit supervisors and others to assess and develop occupational health and employee wellness activities. S/He is responsible for creating and translating policies, collecting and analyzing appropriate data and communicating outcomes. S/He demonstrates leadership through developing and coordinating programs to improve employee health and safety and organizational processes.

Tour of Duty: M-F Day Shift
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with current regulations).
Physical Standards : All applicants must be physically and mentally able to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. A pre-placement physical examination shall be completed prior to appointment.
Licensure : Applicant must possess full, active, current and unrestricted licensure as a licensedRegistered Nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United Sates, or the District of Columbia.
English Language Proficiency : Applicant must be proficient in both spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).*Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, no experience.
*Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field and no experience; or a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and no experience.
*Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of experience; or a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of experience, or a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no experience.
*Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of experience, or ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years experience or a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years experience, or a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no experience.
*Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 years experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field and approximately 2-3 years experience.
