Position Description
Extended Recovery Unit Description: * ERU is a fast paced 24 bed post interventional/ postsurgical unit * Focused on quality patient care/meeting the needs of our patients & their family * Flexibility/Adaptability , Teamwork ,Self-motivation, initiative required. * Ability to multitask & maintain high level s of quality care * Preparing patients & family for timely & comfortable discharge * Attention to detail/accuracy * Open communication between multiple team members (RN, MD,PT,RT) and other departments.
Position Requirements
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). In addition to the above, the following is preferred for departments listed below: Renal Dialysis: 1. One (1) year experience in critical care or hemodialysis. Special Care Nurseries: 1. Completion of the American Heart Association Resuscitation course. Family- Centered Care- Admissions Team: 1. 2 years nursery/nicu experience or 4 years Mother/Baby experience. 2. NRP mandatory. Neurosciences: 1. Completion of Critical Care and Basic Arrhythmia course. 2. ACLS certification. Radiology: 1. ACLS certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date. 2. Two (2) years experience in medical-surgical nursing or related area with at least one (1) year experience involving the treatment of cardiac/critical care patients or previous radiology experience. 3. PALS is required of Radiology Nurses working in the Alpharetta Pediatric Imaging facility and is preferred but not required for all other Radiology nurses 4. For the Breast Care Center locations — BCLS requirement only. Surgical Services 1. Operating Room: Prior Operating Room experience or completion of a course in Operating Room nursing. 2. PACU: Prior PACU or ICU experience or completion of a course in Post-Anesthesia Care nursing. 3. Current ACLS Certification required. Cath Lab Admission/Recovery Unit (ARU)-Forsyth 1. Critical Care experience (preferred). 2. Current ACLS (required). Cardiology –Forsyth 1. Critical Care experience (preferred). 2. Current ACLS (required). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED National certification in specialty area. Cancer Center (Radiation Oncology ACLS certification and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
