Position Description
If you are fascinated with the gastrointestinal system, this unit is for you! We are a Med/Surg unit with a focus on GI. Many of our patients have non-surgical abdominal pain, cirrhosis, hepatitis, non-surgical bowel obstructions, intractable nausea and vomiting, cholelithiasis, acute pancreatitis, diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, and upper and lower GI bleeds. We work closely with the GI Lab, prepping, sending and receiving patients in need of colonoscopies or endoscopies. We also receive patients from surgery of less complicated cases. Most of our patients are NPO. You will get experience working with TPN, lipids, feeding tubes and suction. This is a fast- paced unit with lots to offer!

The GI Medicine RN will be responsible for providing preoperative, post-operative and care for the in-patient medical adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
Position Requirements
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A minimum of one year of recent, hospital medical/surgical experience is required. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

License/Certification Requirements: Yes

Work Hours: 7p-7:30a

Weekend Requirements: Yes

On-Call Requirements: No
