Position Description The Nursing Manager assumes ultimate 24-hour responsibility for the care of patients in the Emergency Department. They direct the nursing care provided to patients on a nursing unit; they supervise, evaluate, guide and counsel nursing staff in their work performance. They also utilize available staff to provide optimal delivery of nursing service. Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice involved in providing nursing care; familiarity with organization and function of departments, policies, procedures and regulations; and knowledge of principles of leadership and organizational and financial management they will report to a Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
- RN licensed in Pennsylvania, or immediate eligibility.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree (a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing ' BSN - from an accredited institution is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- At least two (2) years of clinical nursing work experience. Emergency Department experience is strongly preferred.
- At least one (1) year of direct people management/supervisory experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Emergency Room Nurse certification (CEN) and/or union experience is desirable.
- Child Abuse and FBI background clearances required.
