Washakie Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital with "big city" capabilities including: 16 slice CT, digital mammography, 1.5 tesla MRI, fluro, full service lab with state of the art equipment, Level III trauma ED staffed with fulltime physicians, surgery services which include 24/7 CRNA coverage including OB epidurals, 2 general surgeons, orthopedic surgery, and ambulatory treatment, numerous wellness activities, and active rehab department including pool therapy and cardiac rehab, sleep studies, total PFTs, and electronic medical records.
Worland is located in northwest Wyoming near the Big Horn Mountains. For the outdoor enthusiast, this rural community of 5,250 offers big game hunting (elk, antelope, deer upland game birds), fishing, snowmobiling, skiing (cross-country and downhill in the Big Horn Ski area), biking, hiking, rock climbing, camping, sightseeing, boating, and photography in the abundant public lands surrounding Worland in all directions. Pay opportunity is: $29.57 - $47.23 per hour.
Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Excellence: Supports process improvements that enhance provision of clinical services, clinical outcomes and patient throughput. Designs and oversees an organizational structure that assures effective delivery of clinical care in assigned nursing areas. Leads innovation in care delivery model design and in processes that ensure patient safety. Fosters an environment focusing on processes and outcomes rather than on individual blame. Ensures that safety is a priority in design and redesign of services. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Advances and supports the professional nurse in the roles of Provider, Teacher, Advocate, Member of the Profession and Manager. Assures, through a process of shared leadership, compliance with nursing standards, accreditation and regulatory requirements.
2. Workforce Management: Creates an environment that supports the effective delivery of patient care. Ensures adequate numbers of competent, engaged staff to deliver care and the ongoing training and development of that staff. Effectively motivates others and delegates responsibilities and necessary authority to meet those responsibilities.
3. Performance Improvement: Demonstrates an expectation and support for continuous quality improvement utilizing processes that include consideration of all stakeholders. Develops dashboards that capture a balance of clinical, operational and financial efforts and outcomes.
4. Business Development: Formulates effective long-term plans for patient care within the service. Identifies opportunities for growth and new services. Translates strategic goals into specific action steps that are then continually monitored and adjusted as indicated. Leads the team in operational planning in alignment with facility, regional and Banner Health goals.
5. Financial Performance: Plans for and oversees operational and capital acquisition processes. Uses an analytical process to assure balanced initiatives, particularly in clinical excellence and financial performance. Evaluates operations and works with leadership team to assure efficient service delivery.
6. Relationships: Builds and support effective collegial relationships with all individuals including staff, physicians, the community, patients and families. Is active in systems, including the community, professional organizations and Banner Health. Promotes and role models positive relationships among various entities, i.e. departments, leadership team, facilities, Colorado region and Banner Health.
Qualifications:
The position requires licensure as a professional nurse in the state of practice. A Bachelor's Degree is required. Clinical and management experience demonstrating progressive leadership development and competency is also required. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with BHS values, management expectations, and service standards.
