St. Clare's Hospital has an opportunity for a part-time Surgical Techician in General OR.  In this team oriented environment you will be an integral part of the patients care. This position is 24 hours per week on the day shift. Days vary throughout the week and occasional weekends are required. Responsibilities in this position include:

• Performs procedures and techniques according to documented departmental policies and procedures.
• Establishes priorities in performing responsibilities to assigned patients.
• Able to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations.
• Demonstrates second circulating and first scrubbing skills by completion of established Operating Room checklist.
• Attends required in service education programs.
• Keeps current on new operative procedure/skills.
• Complies with Operating Room Policies and Procedures related to work schedules.

• Education: Successful completion of a surgical Technologist program, from an accredited program/school
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in multi-specialty O.R.
• Experience: Experience with Transfer/Transport, skin preparation, maintaining a sterile field, and instrument sterilization is preferred
• Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Knowledge: General knowledge of instuments and equipment that are commonly used in a surgery setting is required
