Tracheostomy Professional Practice Specialist
Children's National Medical Center (CNMC), the largest non-profit medical and research facility in the mid-Atlantic region dedicated exclusively to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, is currently seeking a Tracheostomy Professional Practice Specialist for our Washington, DC facility.
In this role, you will facilitate the post-op nursing management of patients undergoing tracheostomy and airway reconstruction, collaborate with the ENT Service on the type of tracheostomy for the patient and their needs, coordinate the tracheostomy patient/family teaching, and serve as a nurse expert for staff on trach care - teaching medical, respiratory therapy, and nursing colleagues the practice. You will also be responsible for updating policies and nursing practice guidelines related to tracheostomy patients.
You must possess an MSN as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, and/or Pediatric or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with 5+ years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a similar position. In addition, you must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in DC and possess excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
