The Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes program provides consultation and long-term management of children and adolescents with acute and chronic endocrine disorders. Physicians, certified diabetes nurse educators, dietitians, social workers and pediatric nurse practitioners make up the dedicated team providing creative and comprehensive approaches to the complex growing problem of pediatric and adolescent diabetes. This program integrates collaborative investigation, new technologies, and expanded educational program initiatives advancing the efforts of prevention and treatment to assist with the elimination of the disease.
The Endocrinology patients have a number of interesting conditions including Calcium and phosphorus disorders Adrenal disorders, Constitutional growth delay, Gonadal disorders, Growth hormone deficiency, Hypoglycemia Hyperlipidemia, Pituitary disorders, Precocious puberty, Premature thelarche and adrenarche , Thyroid disorders ,Short stature. The patients, range in age from newborn to 18 years.
A minimum of one year of pediatrics experience is required. CDE certification is preferred. A current Washington State RN license is required. On call weekend hours may be required in addition to occasional overtime.
Position includes variable day shifts with possible evening hours as well as weekend call. Hours: Per Diem, Days/Evenings + weekend call.
