The OR Control Desk Coordinators at Salem Health on a day-to-day basis, manages patient flow within the intraoperative area (across all surgical groups regardless of physical location). Works closely with the Control Desk Manager to plan daily operations and control desk activities. Works collaboratively with the Anesthesiologist in Charge to assure effective and fiscally responsible utilization of suite and personnel resources adhering to policy and guidelines. Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, other Surgical Services service lines, and hospital departments to facilitate safe, high quality patient service. Continues to perform routine duties of the registered nurse in the operating room when not assigned to the control desk.

Required Education and Experience:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program.
- Registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
- Two years' recent (within past three years) experience in Operating Room, demonstrating ability to circulate/scrub at a basic level in a broad range of specialties.
- Requires specialty - specific certification(s) or must obtain within two years of hire.
- The Coordinator must be available for call and weekend and holiday rotations.
Working Conditions:
Adequate visual and hearing ability to read and perform nursing procedures safely. Manual dexterity adequate to perform skills and procedures to assure safe patient care.
Ability to safely lift, pull, and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and over 100 pounds with assistance: bend, stretch, and reach to accomplish duties. Position requires constant standing and walking with frequent repetitive use of arms, wrist and hands to accomplish duties.
