Summary of Essential Job Duties:

The EIS Inpatient Systems Manager will have in depth knowledge of hospital operations; ideally in an academic medical center.  In addition, the EIS Inpatient Systems Manager will be experienced in the full implementation lifecycle of an inpatient electronic medical record system.  The  EIS Inpatient Systems Manager will be responsible for completion of the CS-Link Inpatient Systems project tasks within a timeline and budget.  The EIS Inpatient Systems Manager will be the primary EIS contact for the Inpatient Systems technology portfolio and will coordinate projects and communications to all impacted stakeholders.  The position reports to the Director of Inpatient Systems with a budget responsibility to the CS Link Project Director.  This position requires the ability to communicate with project leadership, clinicians and technical staff.  The EIS Inpatient Systems Manager must be a champion for all projects in his/her portfolio across the institution and serve as a positive role model for encouraging others to embrace operational changes associated with the CS-Link implementation and other application technology projects.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

RN License required.

Experience:

• Six years of progressive IT experience or a combination of  education and experience in an IT environment required.
• Clinical or healthcare operations experience in nursing required.
• Experience leading and motivating staff required.
• Involvement with nursing informatics highly desirable.
  • Experience with projects related to transforming care at the bedside highly desirable.
  • Epic implementation experience preferred.
  • Epic certification in application preferred.
    • Understanding of health care industry service delivery processes, preferably in an Academic Medical Center.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems required.
    • Strong communication skills – written and verbal required.
    • Excellent organizational and skills required.
    • Strong facilitation skills required.
      • An understanding of computer system capabilities to address process requirements required.
      • Skilled in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, Visio and PowerPoint required.
      • Experience managing multiple assignments simultaneously preferred.
