SUMMARY:
The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall operation of unit/units under his/her direction through the development and monitoring of the techniques, policies and procedures utilized by patient care providers. Maintains effective communications both internally and externally to the unit to resolve problems and to collaborate regarding procedures. Responsible for ensuring that customer satisfaction and exceptional service is maintained. Conflict resolution and problem-solving both inter-departmentally and intra-departmentally are requirements of the position. Management of the unit(s) requires budgeting, commitment to continuous improvement and utilization of team-based management style.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited program in Nursing. Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related field required. Masters degree in health care administration, nursing, business administration or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in health care setting required of which at least 3 years must include administrative and supervisory responsibilities or equivalent in education and experience. Must demonstrate strong clinical knowledge relevant to specific area of responsibility. Must posses a current Maryland RN license. Must maintain current CPR certification.
