SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the direct patient care of an identified group of patients in the Preop and PostAnesthesia Care Units. The RN assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for the delivery of all patient care, including care provided by those directly under his/her direction, such as the LPN, Patient Care Technician and any other non-licensed provider of care. The RN uses nursing theory to appropriately assess, reassess, deliver and evaluate care given while incorporating all JCAHO recommended practices into care routines. Communication within and outside of the care team is essential to providing and meeting the plan of care. An RN is assigned charge responsibilities on a rotating basis, as needed. Responsible for ensuring that satisfaction and service to to all customers is achieved.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an approved RN program. Minimum of one year of experience preferred. Previous specialty clinical experience required for specialty units. Current Maryland license as RN. Must maintain current CPR, ACLS, & PALS certification. If not currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS, this must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire. Must be able to pass all hospital competencies required for the position.
