Job Duties

Perform direct nursing care for patients undergoing multifaceted endoscopic, cardiac, and bronchoscopic procedures using complex technical equipment and computer. Organize and direct procedure room activity demonstrating knowledge of procedures, cardiac, pulmonary and GI anatomy physiology, and equipment preparation using sophisticated nursing assessment and intervention skills as required. Give IV sedation under the direct supervision of the physician as required during procedure. document procedure occurrences on tools ensuring compliance with hospital policy. Provide age appropriate assessment to ensure patients are appropriate prepared for the procedure and starting IV. Provide nursing assessment and appropriate pre. during and post procedure.

Job Qualifications

Current CA RN License required.
ACLS/BLS certification required.
Previous GI motility or other procedure related experience preferred. If no experience in a procedure related area, 2 years recent med/surg or 1 year recent ICU experience.
Previous GI motility procedure related experience preferred.
Proven ability to manage a busy schedule and to make changes in assignment according to changing priorities.
Demonstrate proficiency in prioritizing, organizing workload and assignments to complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
Demonstrate competency in managing acutely ill patients and demonstrate accurate patient assessment using age appropriate skills.
Demonstrate proficiency in using PC including Windows, and mainframe.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and speak in a concise and diplomatic manner.
Ability to work independently and be resourceful to all team members.
BSN strongly preferred.
