Job Duties

The Manager of Professional Development is a registered nurse whose practice is in nursing education and leadership, and who oversees programmatic lifelong professional development for nursing staff in the UCLA Health system. Responsible for the fiscal, human resources, educational, materials management, and communication operations of the nursing professional development programs. Provides direction and oversight for the Coach-Led Professional Role Development Program implementation and the ongoing implementation and support of Relationship-Based Care. Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises programs of nursing professional development based on assessed needs and organization strategy; provides education directly and/or consults on the design, presentation, and evaluation of educational offerings. Within each of these role functions, the Manager of Professional Development acts as a leader, role model, change agent, advocate for nursing practice, and expert in use of educational methods.

Job Qualifications

Nursing Professional Leadership certification or Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.
Masters in Nursing required; Nursing Education or Administration preferred.
3-5 years educational and progressive leadership experience.
