We are seeking an experiencedPerioperative RN/ RN Circulator to work in the OR in our Leonard Morse Hospital - Natick. This position is a per diem position.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the OR unit's nursing management the Perioperative Nurse plans and directs nursing care for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. He/she performs nursing duties to ensure and the safe and quality patient care to all patients.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The RN Circulator is responsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinating the needs of the surgical team with other care providers necessary for completion of surgery. The circulator nurse observes the surgery and the surgical team from a broad perspective and assists the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient. The circulator nurse assesses the patient's condition before, during, and after the operation to ensure an optimal outcome for the patient. The circulating nurse serves as the patient advocate while the patient is least able to care for him or herself. Performs duties of a circulating registered nurse as assigned. Assists physicians with procedures in the absence of other skilled personnel.
- Current RN license - Massachusetts
- The level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in nursing. BSN preferred.
- Three years of OR nursing experience. Orthopedic, Bariatric and Neuro surgery experience a plus.
Patient care environment; almost constant standing, walking and pushing/moving of patients and equipment. Exposure to patient elements.
