Last year, Methodist Health System provided more than $132 million in non-reimbursed charity care. In the past, Methodist Dallas has treated more than 66,000 emergency patients including 1,900 trauma patients annually in facilities designed to serve 50,000 patients a year. Committed to improving and saving lives through compassionate, quality health care, Methodist just added a new six-story, 248,000-square-foot tower dedicated to emergency, trauma, and critical care at Methodist Dallas. the $123 million Charles A. Sammons Tower will allow Methodist to serve 90,000 emergency and trauma patients from across North Texas annually.

We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager for our Neuro and Intermediate Critical Care Unit.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the divisional Director of the service, the Neuro Critical Care Nurse Manager has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in a designated unit. The Nurse Manager has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of patient care, Human Resource and financial management. The Nurse Manager Neuro Critical Care Unit will have the opportunity to oversee Neuro ICU and Intermediate Critical Care for a total of 34 beds located in the new Charles A Sammons Trauma and Critical CareTower.


BSN required. Masters preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN) licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Texas.


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Five years of clinical experience preferred.

Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of nursing practice.

Demonstrated leadership ability and potential Managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan organize and direct the activities of other.
