Job Summary: The Quality Improvement Coordinator reports to the Manager of Quality Improvement and is responsible for coordinating, and facilitating practitioner (physician and mid-Levels) performance improvement activities in accordance with the process defined in the Wellstar Medical Staff Peer Review Policy. Activities include consultation/research, data collection, comparison, reporting, analysis, facilitation of recommendations for improvement, and support of medical staff performance improvement committees. Also includes development of comparative data, data drilldown to the physician and mid-level practitioner level as appropriate, and physician profiling to support the credentialing/reappointment process. Collects data for publically reported CORE measures which impact reimbursement. Also supports the sentinel event process through thorough review and summarization of the event and team participation. Supports the Hospital Medical Director with medical staff related activities.
Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse with current Georgia License.
Required Minimum Experience: Minimum of five (5) years clinical nursing experience; general medical/surgical experience preferred.
Required Minimum Skills: Experience in data collection methodologies and basic interpretation. Computer skills required: MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Trendstar or similar database applications preferred. Detail oriented. Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.
