This full-time Registered Nurse position is located in the newly-remodeled Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Cloud Hospital.

The NICU Registered Nurse provides patient- and family-centered care through The Compass: St. Cloud Hospital’s Nursing Professional Practice Model to achieve the hospital mission of improving the health and quality of life that reflects the healing mission of Jesus.  Age appropriate care is provided to patients and families.  Utilizes the nursing process within a patient focused care environment in providing direct and indirect care of patients to achieve the hospital mission of competent, Christian, holistic patient care. Patients cared for include children from early gestation through adolescence and childbearing women. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards for a superior patient experience.  Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.

 

 

 

EDUCATION

 

Graduate from a nursing program required.  Baccalaureate or Masters in Nursing preferred.  A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing must be obtained within five years for those hired into an RN position on or after May 1, 2014.                                                                                    

 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Knowledge of nursing standards, policies, procedures, and ethics.  Previous experience in nursing is preferred.  Previous NICU experience also preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required. 

 

Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.  National Certification in a Nursing Specialty preferred.

 

Child and Adolescent Specialty Center:  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for all RN’s.

 

Children’s Center:   PALS/ACLS Card Holder Status required for all RN’s who have completed PICU Orientation.

 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) card holder status required for all Pediatric RN’s.

 

Respond to Pediatric Codes House wide following Code Blue Training.

 

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required for all RN’s who have completed NICU Level III orientation.

 

Family Birthing Center:  Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required.
