Responsible for supervising all the functions of the Surgical Services Department pertaining to ordering, inventory control, delivery, storage, processing and repair of equipment, instruments and supplies used in the operating rooms. Also supervises process of instrument preference lists in OR computer system. This position may be delegated certain responsibilities of the Patient Care Director, Surgical Services in that person's absence. Other duties as assigned.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in an Operating Room environment including Materials processing and/or Surgical supply purchasing and control is required.

Successful completion of course in Operating Room Technology and Bachelors degree in Business or Health Administration or Nursing is required.

Other information:
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with various hospital and medical staff and outside vendors when gathering and exchanging information and with subordinates in providing effective leadership. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time. Ability to use computer spreadsheet programs to input, organize and analyze data.
