Job Description:Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management of patients in pediatric cardiac and intensive care units and other inpatient settings. Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. Direct or participate in case management and continuing care. Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high quality care. Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects. Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team. Provide active support and mentorship for medical trainees.
Requirements:

Required:- Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program; Acute care pediatric NP preparationvery strongly preferred. - Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. - Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitionerORgraduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program, active certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and active, unencumbered physician assistant, certified, licensure in the State of Washington. NP must have peds critical care experience; PA must have post-PA pediatric critical care training and/or PA PICU/CICU work experience.

Either NP or PA must have:- Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration. - Current PALS certification. - Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider, Seattle Children's Hospital. - Minimum of one year experience in a pediatric critical care environment. - Strong critical care pediatric clinical skills and knowledge base. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred:- Two years experience in a nurse practitioner or physician assistant role. - Two years experience in critical care pediatrics
