PeaceHealth is looking for an outstanding RN STAFF NURSE to join our RiverBend Critical Care Super Pool!

 

This is a 24 hr/wk, Day shift position.  This position comes with an hourly differential of $2.00.

 

The RN Staff Nurse – Super Pool will be assigned to work in the following areas: 

ICU, Intermediate Care Unit, OHVI 4, and one other area of operational need.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing required.
  • Basic EKG class within 6 months of hire.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Specialty certification preferred.

Experience/training:

  • Two years of acute care experience or two years of sub-acute experience in a skilled nursing facility as a Staff Nurse preferred.
  • ICU TRACK:  One year adult critical care experience OR 350 hours in ICU as a nursing student within last 12 months OR successful completion of SHMC Critical Care Training Program may be substituted for all or part of this requirement
  • BSN, CCRN, and ACLS may be substituted for some experience
  • Must function independently with more advanced treatments, procedures and equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and treat life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Previous experience in a float pool with concentration in Med/Surg areas preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.

License/certification:

  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse licensure required at date of hire.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
  • ACLS certification required required at date of hire.
  • PALS required within 6 monhts of hire.

Other skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures
  • Basic computer skills
