 Northside Hospital is committed to patient safety, quality service and continuous improvement.  Our Quality Improvement (QI) Department  works to advance learning and system-wide improvements throughout the hospital, various outpatient sites, and the communities we serve.  The program is a comprehensive effort that addresses Northside Hospital's dimensions of quality, including: clinical and service excellence, patient safety, continuous readiness, and operational efficiency.  The Department improves health care provider and system performance through Departmental and Medical Staff peer review, maintaining a program of continuous compliance with Joint Commission standards, AHRQ patient safety measures, and utilizing data from department-specific QI initiatives to guide performance improvement efforts.
 
 The Coordinator of Quality/Patient Safety will be responsible for assisting the Director and Vice President of Quality Improvement, with hospital wide projects and goals. Provides oversight for Quality and Patient Safety for NSH locations, external to the main campus. This includes regulatory requirements for NSF locations. Maintains high standards and works on interdisciplinary teams, task forces, and committees to achieve best possible outcomes for patients.  Will travel to all 3 campuses as needed.
 
 

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or health care related field. Minimum of 3 years combined experience in health care field in the following functions: Quality Improvement or JCAHO coordination, either in hospital or ambulatory settings. Minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis and report writing. Provides clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, objective judgment, self-direction and motivation. Ability to function effectively with a wide variety of disciplines, including physicians and nurses. Make presentations on topics related to quality and regulatory issues. Able to participate as part of a team to accomplish an assigned project.
