We have an exciting opportunity in our Brain Injury Rehab Unit. To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing with current NYS RN License and BLS. The position requires a patient, empathetic, caring nurse with a strong focus on clinical and patient satisfaction; A minimum of two years of recent Rehabilitation or Med/Surg experience; Orthopaedic or Spine experience is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills with an emphasis on patient satisfaction is expected.
The Neuro Rehab Unit is a Neuro Rehabilitation is a 20-bed unit focused on patients with traumatic brain injury, and also includes other neurological conditions such as spinal cord injury, cerebral vascular accident, multiple sclerosis, Guillian-Barre, and cerebral palsy. It is a patient/family-centered unit where primary nursing is provided. It is home to professional nurses who research evidence based practices and collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines in conducting projects which will enhance nursing practice. It is a challenging environment focused on providing quality nursing care via collaborative practice.
As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, formulates the initial plan of care with the provider (physician or nurse practitioner) and collaborates with them to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care to achieve expected outcomes.
