|Job Summary:||The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients at Mercy Medical Center. The CNM provides support to the Labor and Delivery unit 24 hours/7days per week, 365 days/year functioning as physician extenders for the attending physicians and OB GYN residents under the supervision of the Chairman of the Department of OB GYN.|
|Requirements:||Education and Work Experience:|
-Current demonstrated competence and an adequate level of current experience, documenting the ability to provide services at an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.
-Successful completion of a formal, approved program which has as its objective the preparation of nurses to perform as nurse midwives; approved by the Board of Registration in Nursing and current certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives or be actively seeking such certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which eligible.
-Current active licensure to practice professional nursing in an expanded role in the nurse midwife category from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
-Current Federal Drug Enforcement certificate and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance certificate, if applicable.
-Current certification in adult CPR by the American Heart Association, if applicable.
