Education: As required by licensure.
One year registered nursing experience or completion of Legacy Health Nurse Residency program or completion of Legacy nursing internship program. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.
Hospice experience or one year medical/surgical acute care or long-term skilled nursing experience preferred.
Licensure:Current applicable state RN license required; Current BLS/CPR certification. Valid driver’s license; Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) from the National Board for Certification of Hospice & Palliative Nurses (NBCHPN) preferred.
Working knowledge of and the ability to apply the basic principles and techniques of community hospice nursing in a variety of home settings.
Must possess excellent clinical nursing skills and be able to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional groups, volunteers and the general public.
Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing.
Computer familiarity helpful.
