A nurse with your reasoning abilities
can impact quality care in more than one way.
You have a deep concern for quality care but that is not all that matters; it’s the way you go about achieving your goals, carefully examining data, and looking for ways to clarify or improve documentation. Holy Name Medical Center, a 361-bed hospital in Teaneck, NJ appreciates your approach, especially since our clinical standards run so high.
We’re looking for a nurse with exceptional reasoning skills to facilitate improvements in the quality, accuracy and completeness of our medical records documentation. You’ll sit on task forces; conduct extensive reviews of medical records; assure the best reflection of diagnosis, clinical status and discharge; recognize opportunities for clarification and/or improvement; and communicate with physicians and members of the HIM staff. Some training, input of data, and reporting are also involved.
Qualified candidate is an RN with current NJ license, BSN and keen organizational, analytical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must have 5 years of clinical experience—ideally in med/surg, acute or critical care—that reflect sound knowledge of the disease process, particularly when it comes to clarification and Medicare, regulatory or DRG matters. Good computer skills and the ability to support CDMP are also essential. Experienced CDI and CCDS preferred.
