The Barrow Neurological Institute,
Department of Neurology, is recruiting for a postdoctoral position in Dr. Kim’s
laboratory for Neurometabolism research. We seek an energetic and creative
scientist whose research synergized with major institutional strengths in the
multidisciplinary study of basic and molecular underlying dietary treatments
for epilepsy (notably, the ketogenic diet and its metabolic substrates,
ketones) and those relevant to the pathogenesis of various neurodegenerative
disorders. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and
multidisciplinary research interests in how metabolic alteration modify
neuroprotective through modulation of bioenergetic capacity and mitochondrial

obtained a MD or PhD degree and have strong background in biochemistry,

Research leading to Doctoral degree. Ph.D., D.Sc., or M.D is required. Ability to conceive new/innovative ideas or solutions with good logic and problem solving skills; ability to communicate, write, advise and counsel on extremely complex and technical matters; knowledge of operating required lab equipment and minor surgical procedures as required.
