Job Duties

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist is a registered nurse whose practice is in nursing education and who facilitates lifelong learning for nursing staff in the UCLA Health System. The NPD Specialist develops, implements, evaluates, and revises programs of orientation, inservice-training, workshops, and continuing education based on assessed needs; provides direct services and/or consultation to the design, presentation, and evaluation of educational offerings. Within each of these role functions, the NPD Specialist acts as a role model, change agent, advocate for nursing practice, and expert in use of educational methods. The NPD Specialist for Relationship-Based Care (RBC) and Professional Role Development Programs will have demonstrated expertise in communication and relationship-building and the proven ability to develop those competencies in others. Experience with RBC facilitation preferred.

Job Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Master's Degree prepared in Nursing required with 3-5 years of recent educational experience. Master's Degree in Nursing Education preferred. Experience and knowledge in Relationship Based Care required.
