This position will support oncology and thoracic patients (2C) as well as the Nurses in the float pool (Nursing Resources). The CNS focuses on clinical quality, patient safety and professional/educational development for the nursing staff. The job description is based on the NACNS standards. The CNS is also engaged in hospital wide committees and focuses on the components required for ANCC Magnet designation.
Requirements: Current RN license from Maryland or eligible compact state. CPR and ACLS certification. Master's Degree in Nursing required, or will consider internal candidates active in master's program. Minimum five years nursing experience required. Two years of related nursing experience required. Certification in oncology nursing preferred, and required within one year of hire.
