This is a twenty-five bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of neuroscience & kidney/pancreas transplants. The unit services young adult, mature adult, and older adult patients, and occasionally an adolescent patient.  The neuroscience patient population includes:  complex spinal fusion, primary stroke unit, vp shunt, seizures and a variety of neurological conditions. There is a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination in meeting patient and family needs.
 

The registered nurse provides high quality, skilled nursing services to assist patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status following an illness requiring hospitalization. Through collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals, the nurse prepares the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care. 


Qualifications

  • A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is required for this position.
  • CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
  • Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
  • One year Acute Care, or Medical Surgical experience preferred.
  • Neurology/Neurosurgery and/or intermediate care experience highly preferred.
  • BSN degree preferred.
