Job Objective: The Charge Nurse -RN, demonstrates advanced clinical and communication skills who, under the direction of the clinical director, is responsible for optimal provision of quality patient care and assists with functioning of an assigned unit. Assumes clinical and operational management responsibility on the unit providing continuity and coordination of unit activities. Demonstrates commitment of system values through customer focus and continuous process improvement. Facilitates staff involvement in Performance Excellence. Assists Director in monitoring compliance with all State and Federal laws. Accountable for assurance of staff compliance to Joint Commission Standards.
Education: BSN or enrollment in a BSN program within 1 year of hire, completion within 5 years.
Licensure/Certification: CA RN license, current CPR, ONS Chemo/Biotherapy certificate. OCN, CRNI preferred.
Experience: 5 years experience in the area of specialty or in area of higher acuity.
