  • Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services and/or designee the Team Leader of an Operating Room Specialty area has expertise in a specific surgical specialty area or areas. This team leader is responsible for the nursing care delivered within the clinical specialty; for overseeing orientation in the clinical specialty; coordinating with physicians in their respective specialties, communication of material intensive needs and supporting in-room activities. The Team Leaders of the specialty will have the responsibility of meeting with the Surgeon and for the maintenance of the preference cards of the specialty assigned.


    Current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in the state ofIllinois . A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in the specialty or specialties both as a scrub nurse and as a circulating nurse preferred.     Certification in Operating room Nursing required within two (2) years of accepting the team leader position.     Current CPR certification. Analytical ability necessary to assess the patient’s condition and utilize the nursing process and professional judgment in providing comprehensive care to patients. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, co-workers, surgeons and other members of the health care team. Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the pressure of stressful or emergency situations. Assists with the transporting of patients and equipment as needed.

I also understand and acknowledge that staff who decline the vaccination due to medical contraindications, religious objections or if the vaccine is unavailable due to supply constraints, will be required to wear a mask when determined to be appropriate. The timing and duration of the use of masks will be determined by the hospital along with local, regional and/or national public health authorities.
