The VITAS Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team and is the pivotal person in identifying the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient and family.  Responsible for initiating the appropriate intervention and support for the patient and family upon admission to VITAS and provides a continuously appropriate, comprehensive and responsive plan of care.  The full-time RN position is based out of our program in San Antonio, TX.

 

 

Our RNs may be placed in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, VITAS inpatient units, retirement centers and home care.

Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of  two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in hospice, medical/surgical or home health preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse where the VITAS program is located.
  • The full-time Registered Nurse will work with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians providing patient care on designated teams in San Antonio and outlying areas.
  • Must be able to rotate on-call responsibilities at night and on weekends with other team members as needed--covering patient care throughout San Antonio and outlying areas.
  • Reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage required.  Mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Qualified nursing candidates will reside in San Antonio or the outlying area of San Antonio in order to respond to patient/family needs in a timely manner.

 

 

Education:
  • Completion of course study to acquire TX RN state licensure required.
  • ADN required.
