The Admissions Nurse is a registered nurse and an Interdisciplinary Team Member whose primary responsibility is to present VITAS services and philosophy to patients and families in a manner that results in the admission of appropriate patients.  This position is based out the New Jersey West Program located in Mount Laurel, NJ.


Our Admission Nurses may be placed in inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, retirement centers and home care as needed to perform a patient/family admissions.

  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years working experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be currently licensed as a RN in the state of New Jersey. 
  • Must have knowledge of clinical manifestations of diseases and the ability to develop VITAS specific clinical knowledge.
  • The full-time Admission Nurse will perform patient/family admissions in the following counties:  Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Glouscester, Salem, Cumberland Counties.
  • Qualified nursing candidates should reside in one of the counties mentioned above in order to respond to patient/family needs in a timely manner.
  • The standard hours for this full-time position are 10am-6pm and/or 12pm-8pm on various days of the week including rotation of weekend coverage.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college/university with consideration also given to international equivalent.
  • ADN required.
  • Previous oncology experience preferred.
  • Previous sales experience preferred.
