Broward Health Medical Center is a 716-bed, state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center and Ft. Lauderdaleâ??s largest healthcare facility.
Full Time Eligible 80 Hours per pay period. Monday-Friday. Flexible. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and completion of an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner program. Master's preferred. Florida ARNP. BLS card from American Heart Association required. Experience in Employee Health/Occupational Health, or Primary Care, or Ambulatory Care or Critical Care Nursing preferred. Medical Surgical or Critical Care Nursing experience preferred. Functions as a Nurse Practitioner who has responsibility for performing day-to-day activities of clinical and practice aspects of the Employee Health Services. The Employee Health Nurse Practitioner implements planning, organizing, evaluating, communication of healthcare services to Broward Health Services, The Employee Health Nurse Practitioner services to Broward Health employees. The Nurse Practitioner promotes workplace health and safety requirements and collaborates with other hospital based healthcare professional in managing workplace healthcare issues. Must be able to function independently and possess the ability to identify and manage patient care issues. Works under the supervision of the Regional Manager and Medical Director.
Summary of Job responsibilities: Ability to conduct pre-employment physicals (Medical history and physical); assessment and referral for healthcare issues. Ability to provide Return to work clearances. Knowledge and implementation of Florida Drug Free Workplace, including drug testing, collection and testing requirements; Ability to provide full range of vaccinations; Participate in annual Flu Vaccine Campaign; Ability to manage and evaluate all exposures including blood and body fluid exposures and communicable diseases; Ability to manage workplace injuries and facilitate referrals to Worker's Compensation; Maintain safe workplace conditions by education employees regarding health issues and BH policies. Support Wellness initiative including- Vaccinations, exercise, nutrition, weight management, smoke free workplace; Ability to track, maintain documentation )written and computer based) for all Employee Health activities and provide follow up as required. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, identify and resolve problems and manage conflict.
