The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center is the nation's first and only integrated Trauma Hospital. With over 8000 patients annually, we are dedicated to the treatment, healing and recovery of the severely injured, employing groundbreaking research and innovative medical procedures with one goal in mind -- saving lives. We offer a full-service suite of nine operating rooms providing services for adolescent to adult patients presenting with severe, complex and life-threatening trauma injuries. As a Nurse Manager within Perioperative Services, you will have direct oversight of 80+ staff members and directly support the Shock Trauma Operating Rooms, with focused accountability for the following:
• Shock Trauma Operating Room Nursing Practice • Safety and quality • Operating budget responsibility • Staff selection, retention and development • Development of a strong clinical nursing leadership and supervisor team • Full participation in both Shock Trauma and Perioperative Services operations and initiatives
As a key nursing leadership team member reporting to the Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services, you will lead and support staff in achieving quality, service, satisfaction and financial objectives for the Shock Trauma Operating Room and Perioperative Services.
Candidates must be consummate, confident professionals with progressive leadership experience and forward-thinking attitudes.
Qualified applicants will hold an unrestricted RN license in the United States, with eligibility to practice in Maryland. This position requires a BSN in combination with a Master’s degree in a relevant clinical field of study. The successful candidate will have at least five years of supervisory and clinical experience within a high-volume, high acuity, academic-level Operating Room setting, with significant experience relating to trauma nursing care. Advanced certification as a Certified Nurse in the OR (CNOR) is required.
