JOB TITLE: Director, Case Management

JOB SUMMARY:

 Directs and manages the operation, strategic planning, marketing and business development, patient (or other customer) satisfaction, profitability and clinical outcomes (where applicable) of Care Management. This individual facilitates the planning, organization, implementation and control of the resources needed for optimal performance of the department in coordination with the various physicians, clinicians and other support staff personnel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:   Bachelor degree in Nursing, Social Work, Hospital Administration or other closely related clinical field: MHA, MBA, MSW or MSN preferred.                          


EXPERIENCE:Five years progressive management experience, at least three of which are directly related to care coordination. A proven track record in management of length of stay and cost per case. Effective physician relations is essential.


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: RN CaliforniaLicensed; additional certification preferred.

 

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: Management principles including managing medical staff relationships, health planning, financial planning and analysis, reimbursement, contract negotiations, construction planning, problem solving, TQM, human resource development and planning. Knowledge of MediCal, Lumetra, Joint Commission and other applicable regulations impacting the particular service area. Broad knowledge of Utilization and Care Management principles and processes. Computer literate. Must have working knowledge of clinical systems including InterQual Enhanced Care Manager.
