Under the supervision of the laboratory manager or neurodiagnostic technologist is responsible for observing Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy (LTME) patients for a change in behavior and/or seizures to alert nursing staff; to immediately interact with the patient to test for the patient's ability to remember, read out loud and follow simple commands, and to make sure the patient is safe. The END Assistant may learn the functions of electrodiagnostic (EEG) technology by group and/or individual teaching, observation, assigned reading, and practical application under the direct supervision of laboratory staff. A minimum of one year of health care experience is required.
Hospital experience is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Some college is preferred.
Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate is preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
