Job Description

Summary:

The House Supervisor RN  c c coordinates the daily operations of staff to ensure operational units are running effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise.
  • Assumes responsibility for supervision and administrative decision making for the care and coordination of nursing and patient care services during the evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Ensures that hospital policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participates in patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

 Education & Experience:

  • Three (3) years successful leadership experience within the assigned service area is required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • NOTE: By January 1, 2017, all associates in this job title must have completed a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) course completion card from the American Heart Association is required prior to hire or job transfer date.
