Education:As required by licensure. BSN preferred.
Experience:One year registered nursing experience or completion of Legacy Health Nurse Residency program.
Clinical experience in the unit/department specialty area is preferred. For nurses selected without unit/department specialty experience Legacy Health provides a 12 week precepted training program to achieve the necessary experience/competencies.
Thorough knowledge of care and skill in placement of peripheral IV catheters; thorough knowledge of care of central IV access devices, PICC certification within 9 months of hire. Clinic team has additional requirement of chemotherapy certification at designated sites within 12 months of hire (MPH/MHMC/LSC).
Pediatric IV team has additional orientation for pediatric peripheral and central IV care. Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
Licensure:Both Oregon and Washington state RN licensure required.
Knowledge/Skills:Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
