The DPS has 24-hour accountability for departments within Periop Services. As a working Manager, s/he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department(s), will supervise personnel, direct departmental activities, determine staffing patterns and manage the overall personnel actions.
The DPS is responsible for the development, interpretation and application of departmental policies, budgets and long range plans. The DPS actively integrates all facets of the Magnet Model into the department culture with the goal of driving for excellence in all patient outcomes. Participates actively in maintaining UCDMC's Magnet Recognition. Responsible for departmental quality assurance initiatives consistent with organizational policies and procedures; Promotes customer service and employee/patient satisfaction.
--Must possess a valid California License as a Registered Nurse
--Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required
--Master's degree required, MBA preferred
--Five years of experience in a busy surgical services setting
--Experience managing a budget up to $50 million
--Experience with diverse patient and employee populations
--Proven management experience with over 20 OR suites, preferred
--Experience managing patients across the lifespan, preferred
